Aptos - Game 1
Tigers 5
Blue Jays 10
WP: Travis Talbot.
HR >> Tigers: Advincula, Constantino. Blue Jays: Barnes, de Young.

Former Tiger Mike Sly roped a 2-run single down the right field line, separating the Blue Jays from a 5-5 tie.

The Jays are 5-0 this season vs. the Tigers, but every game has been a battle. Great tight competitive action.

Kudos to Craig Jones for going the distance again against Travis Talbot.

The game had several lead changes, highlight plays, and the outcome was in doubt throughout. Kraig Constantino's 2-run shot in 5th was a bomb and gave the Tigers the lead until Sly's liner gave the Jays the lead in the bottom of the 5th. Homers by Mike Barnes and Fred de Young provided a cushion in the 7th. Well played game defensively as well.

Next week the playoff action shifts to Wilcox High, with the Tigers needing a sweep to advance to the Championship.

Tigers:
Advincula (2-4, HR, 2 Runs), Constantino (HR, 2 RBI).

Blue Jays:
Barnes (2-2, HR, 2 BB, 2 Runs), Talbot (2-4, 2 Runs), Young (HR, 3 RBI), Sly (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI).

Mets(18) 12
WP: Becks.
HR >> Royals(18): Thomas, Sandoval, Becks (2). Mets(18): Pleasant, Cervantes, R. Doan.

This one was one for the ages!

Mets rushed out to a 9-1 lead and about put a fork into the meager Royals. The Royals came alive in the 6th with a Sandoval Grand Slam to make it 9-6 and new ballgame. Royals blew up for 7 more runs in the 7th to take the lead and hold on for a 14-12 victory vs the League's best team.

Royals got production throughout the lineup with 9/10 hitters not getting out all day. Casey Tauscher went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and Cole Gummere was 2-for-2 with a double.

Ryan Becks came into the game in the 4th and went the distance to grab his first win all year. The game ended with runners at 1st and 3rd on a smash down the line that 3B Jeff Canter snared and threw out the runner!!
