Royals(18) 17
Mets(18) 1
WP: Connolly.
HR >> Royals(18): Rodrigues, Mclean, Smith. Mets(18): Bergstom.

The Royals flexed their bats on the #1 team in the league. Rich Rodrigues got it all started with a 3-run job in the 1st and the Royals never let up after that. Stevie Mclean hit the first of his 2 homers on the day. Bergstrom hit 1 of his 2 homers on the day to score the Mets lone run.

Steve Connolly went 5 strong innings to get the win and Cole Gummer worked the 6th and 7th to close it out.

Aptos - Game 2
Royals(18) 12
Mets(18) 8
WP: Joey Canter.
HR >> Royals(18): Becks, Rodrigues, Mclean, Sandoval. Mets(18): Bergstrom, Pleasant, Kirby.

Royals complete the sweep of the Mets.

TJ Gersey and Joey Canter held the Mets in check through 5 innings. The Mets made a late push with a few nice jacks in the 7th.

Have to check records, but I (Mgr. Ryan Becks) believe this is the first time the Mets have every been swept.

Great effort by the Royals who came out hungry and never let up. The Mets have our respect!

After it was all over, both teams got together for food and beers!

Mets are a class act!
